I had an interview this morning for the Buffalo Niagara Film Festival. This is a local festival that is going on its fifth year. They host a lot of independent films and (I believe) this year those films will be eligible to go onto the Oscars. I will basically be doing marketing and whatever else I can do. the founder said that if I wanted to do some of the PR writing later on that I could do that too. I will also have the opportunity to go to meetings with him to see the process of everything. Also!! Gordy Hoffman, the screenwriter brother of Phillip Seymour Hoffman, is going to be hosting a screenwriting workshop and I will have the opportunity to attend!!
The location we're working out of is an hour's drive but it's really not that bad (we'll see about that in winter). Also this is not a paying internship. I will be able to get a percentage of any sponsorship that I bring in but no set pay. I was a little apprehensive about this but when I was told of all the opportunities this would give me there was no way I was going to pass up this opportunity. Hopefully it's not too much grudge work. I'm so excited!!
I'm going to work this till school starts, work through a few weeks of school, and then think about getting another job to supplement some income. :)
So now this blog will include my BNFF adventures as well!! yay!!
